Cape Kashkaval: Cheese Cliffs

Cape Kashkaval

It is named so because of the interesting rock formations that resemble cheese molds stacked on top of each other. Since it is not possible to see the Cheese Cliffs, located to the east of Kuzu Harbor, from the land, it can be seen from the sea by boat.

There is even a legend about a rich, stubborn, stingy and old woman with herds of sheep and goats about these natural formations of the island, which offer a visual feast. This old woman, who has not developed a sense of sharing, suffered the wrath of the god she angered, and the cheese molds she made in the face of freezing snow, rain and winds turned into stone.
